NEW ZEALAND

A useful paper on the telegram seals of New Zealand by Adam Miller was published in the Royal Philatelic Society of New Zealand journal.
The first type appeared in mid-1912 and was in use until 1920 when gummed flaps were introduced. It was first issued in both dark and pale blue,
the latter being in his experience more common and probably later in issue although the dark blue variety seems to turn up more often on eBay.
A second type was issued in 1942 to save paper. It is not known when this later type was withdrawn but probably in 1945 or 1946.
Very few telegraph companies took advantage of the 'advertising' space on their seals but New Zealand did use a seal promoting National Savings gift coupons in 1944 .

Updates. The above was written by Steve Hiscocks. I have added the colour images at 300dpi
and adopted the numbering scheme suggested by Adam Miller that can be seen at rpsnz.org.nz
No pricing as yet.

There is much more information about the seals of New Zealand in a pdf document available at rpsnz.org.nz written by Adam Miller.
I have incorporated much of the information, but have not been able to obtain permission to reproduce images from it.

If anyone can provide scans to help with this, I am happy to give appropriate credit.

Comments, criticisms, information or suggestions are always welcome.
