Steve Hiscocks did not include Malaya because it issued no Telegraph Stamps.
I have added it to include telegraph stationery and cancels for the area.
I have not tabulated or priced anything as yet.

Telegraph Stamps and Stationery of Malaya.

Historically, This is a resource-rich area that has long been exploited for tin and rubber, which later used to
make gutta-percha for the insulation of submarine cables.

Kedah and Straits Settlements (1867-1946, comprising Singapore, Penang, Malacca, and Labuan) were initially customers
of the Eastern Telegraph Co., but later had Government facilities. Labuan was part of Borneo to the east.

For Expedience I include Federated Malay States (Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang), individual Malay states and
Straits Settlements in this section.

Federated Malay States (F.M.S.) Straits Settlements (S.S.) S.S. and F.M.S. Kedah. Trengganu. Japanese Occupation. BMA Malaya. After B.M.A. Cable & Wireless

Federated Malay States.

Federated Malay States $25
$25 (top value) used in Kuala Lumpur, 13 February 1912.

Map of Malaya
The initial cable was Madras-Penang-Malacca-Singapore.
In 1877, Rangoon was connected to Penang. In 1879, Penang–Malacca-Singapore was duplicated.
Madras-Penang was duplicated in 1923. Singapore connected (1871) to Hong Kong via Saigon.
