Online translation has been a help with 'European' languages, but it is only designed to work with modern languages.
With Japanese, Thai, Russian and other Cyrillic languages, there have been changes, but a bit of educated guesswork is helpful.
With Ottoman Turkish though I have had no success in translation, unless you count the numbers ;o)
Help would be appreciated in that area.
I have standardised on 300dpi scans. I normally scan at 600 dpi, do whatever rotations I need, put parts together, re-size and sharpen.
The sizes I give for the ones I have bought are based on the pixel count multiplied by 300dpi and converted to mm (x 25.4).
For anyone interested, I am using a relatively cheap, though fairly accurate scanner, a Canon Canoscan LIDE 120.
